It gives my life meaning, purpose, and most importantly, a sense of connection with God and the world around me.
Artist Statement:
I am Xiomara Aleksic, an artist and art instructor based in Central Florida. My artistic journey is a fusion of inspiration drawn from nature's tranquility, the vibrant tapestry of my Hispanic culture, and the introspective practice of meditation. These influences converge in my work, where I strive to capture moments of serenity and connection.
While I primarily work with pastels and explore painting and mixed media techniques, I also specialize in creating captivating portraits. Each portrait is imbued with a sense of depth and emotion, reflecting the unique essence of the subject.
As both an artist and instructor, my mission is to share a message of love, light, and hope through my art. I believe in the transformative power of creativity to inspire and uplift others, fostering a sense of unity and positivity within our community.
Artist Bio:
Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, to Dominican-born parents, this artist's journey into the world of art was nurtured by a supportive family who recognized her passion from an early age. Graduating with a degree in Graphic Design from Valencia College in 2003, she seamlessly blended traditional art mediums with modern design principles.
The artist's true artistic awakening occurred in 2009, when a series of fortuitous encounters reignited her fervent desire to fully immerse herself in her craft. Since then, she has enjoyed a remarkable trajectory, gracing prestigious exhibits, galleries, competitions, and lively outdoor festivals with her diverse body of work.
Residing in Central Florida, the artist finds fulfillment as both an art educator at IQ Village School of the Arts, Community School for the Arts and as a visual artist. Amidst the vibrancy of her professional life, she cherishes the unwavering support of her remarkable spouse and two children, who infuse every moment with joy and inspiration.
In gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon her, the artist finds solace in the profound connection to her faith, acknowledging the divine guidance that illuminates each step of this extraordinary journey she navigates together with her loved ones, each and every day.
